Visit Barcelona - Traveler experience

I’ve been in Barcelona several times. It’s always exciting to come back and see the people, architecture, art, museums, bars, shops, restaurants, discos and everything this city offers. A cosmopolitan city. The light is special, the sea, mountain. Barcelona has everything you might ask to the city of your dreams.
Bar – Because of the great amount of bars you’ll find
Cel – (sky) Because here it’s specially beautiful
Ona – (wave) Because of the sea
I love to explain that interesting version of where the city name come from. I’m not going to explain all the places you can go, there are bunch. You can check the website link below for tourist info.
What I wanna share with all of you is the strong freedom and lively feeling that I have when I walk the streets of Barcelona, when sharing a beer at some hidden bar, buying some cool clothes, eating an icecream while walking at the beach or eating at some exotic restaurant in Gracia neighborhood.
Don’t miss La Sagrada Familia, Parc Güell, Gracia neighborhood (Verdi street), El Born neighborhood (Moskito Thai Restaurant), Las Ramblas, Plaza Catalunya, the beach and the port. A visit to Collserola mountain and the Tibidabo amusement park will let you see Barcelona from the air and have a great experience.
You’ll find plenty of Barcelona photos, so I’m just uploading the ones I made from the plane.

Pacific grove – Monterey, California

Walking through the dunes from the Asilomar conference center to the beach. we found these 4 meter long seaweeds washed up on the beach. The closest feeling to the primordial  unhabitants of our planet.

Shakespeare and Company bookstore – Paris, France

When I think of all the literary giants who lived and worked in this store it makes me shiver: Fitzgerald, Hemingway, Stein, Miller, Kerouac… And inside, the smell of the books crammed together on tottering shelves, the natural courtesy of the people browsing as you squeeze by them, the tinkling of the old piano upstairs, and the comfortably musty overstuffed chairs in the reading rooms… it´s like stepping back into a quieter time. A paradise for lovers of books and words, and a Paris landmark!

The Exploratorium – San Francisco, California

The Exploratorium is a hands-on science museum for geeks, normal people, or just anyone who thinks life is cool. I like feeling like a kid again whenever I go there. Located near the Golden Gate Bridge in the Marina district of San Francisco, it´s close to whatever else you might want to do there. Fun!

Jamaica – Roots Bamboo cabins and camping, Negril

Back in the early 90s, I got the chance to stay here twice, and it was fantastic! The first time I camped in a rented tent under the palm trees on the beach, and the second time I stayed in one of their bare-bones cabins. With the Carribean only 20 meters away, I was more than willing to share the bathrooms and eat at their open-air restaurant. Not high-end accomodations, but the prices were incredibly cheap! (though I don´t know what they are now…) Super laid-back, and great for the low-budget traveler (or singles!). Negril is a small town with a 7-mile long beach and no hotels taller than the palm trees. While there are a few all-inclusive hotels there, most are normal beach hotels. Carribean paradise!
