Travelers Favorite Hotels and Rural Houses in Costa Brava

Can Massa Rural Farmhouse
In La Pera we found peace and deep relax mixed with cultural and sports activities. Everything is close from there, and the owners are the kindest people I’ve known in the area. They are very helpful giving you advice on what to do, when, where and how for the best experience. An authentic catalan farmhouse offering the best service year after year.
Can Massa is an old peasant farmer´s house formed by the main house and several stables and granaries that surround the inner courtyard. There is a porch where table-tennis, badminton and volleyball can be practised. The house has six rooms, two drawing-rooms for guests, one of which has a fireplace, music, television set and parlour games. It keeps some old tools which are part of the decoration. The house is situated between the regions of Baix Emporda and Girones, at the foot of the massif of the Gavarres and near to the beach.
All rooms have an ensuite bathroom, air conditioned, central heating, free wifi and antique refurbished furniture.
One of main attractions in Costa Brava is Dali and all his story. The house is in La Pera, 1 minute away from Pubol, where we find “Castell de Gala – DalĂ”. Most of best beaches in Costa Brava are 20 minutes away. Located at the heart of Costa Brava, this house is pretty close to most interesting cities, places and restaurants. Girona is 20 minutes away by car.

Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington

A great family experience with rides for everyone. We also found a cute little hotel in nearby Clearfied called the Charin Inn that we loved. The family will hit lagoon again when we return to Utah.

Travelers favorite hotels in Madrid

NH Palacio de Tepa

This hotel is a NH chain hotel, and I’ve been in lots of them. They always offer great confort and service without exception. NH Palacio de Tepa is specially beautiful and confortable. Our stay in Madrid was much better thanks to the rest we took at the hotel. Madrid is a huge city, lots of things and places to see, lots of activities you can do and enjoy, the less you can do is sleep at a nice hotel like this. They have a nice restaurant, most rooms with balconies and best location. Plaza Mayor is a minute walking… Enjoy it!

Favorite restaurants in San Francisco

Kokkari Estiatorio

I love mediterranean cuisine and all it’s benefits. It’s hard to find good olive oil as it’s hard to find good mediterranean restaurants in USA. San Francisco has one of them, bringing the flavor directly from Europe (Greece to be more concrete) and giving customers an unforgettable gastronomic experience. Using fresh seasonal products and ingredients, you’ll be amazed by food and atmosphere. Don’t miss the lamb if you have the chance!

Travelers favorite places in Rome

Most people call Paris “the city of love”. In my opinion, Rome is much more romantic. You can bring your love or you can try to find it there, anyway, you’re going to enjoy a city where light amaze you, where history and art transport your soul and mind to another era, where gastronomy is excellent, people kind, streets full of life and piazzas beautiful.
Don’t miss The Vatican, Fontana di Trevi, St Peter’s Square, Piazza Spagna, Spanish steps, the Colisseum or Final Judgement.
I will always want to go back to Rome while I still have breath.

Travelers favorite hotels in Rome, Italy

Four River Suites Hotel

Several times I find people that just care about photos and technical things when making hotel or restaurant reservations. I must say that photos are a great way to show places, and I tend to believe what I see, but the important thing that I really care about is the service. At Four Rivers Suites you’ll get one of the best guest service I’ve ever experienced. Owner has a very interesting conversation, speaks 3 or 4 languages and communicates a lot. You can take his advice or not, but I highly recommend to do it. You’ll get the chance of experience real Rome.

And many more here: http://www.totaltravel24.com/travelers-favorite-hotels-in-rome-italy/

Travelers favorite places in Portovenere

Portovenere is a traditional italian fishing village with beautiful houses. The view of the port with all those little boats and colorful houses is fantastic. It’s impossible to not think about the old fishermen and the lifestyle they had. Early in the mornings go to the boat, enter the mediterranean sea and find fish for you, your family and luckily some for sell.
Sun, good life, hard work, family, love, Italy, Mediterranean sea… Great memories from Portovenere and one of top places in Europe for travelers in my opinion.

Bar Tomás. Best "patatas bravas" in Barcelona

When I think about Barcelona I think about Bar Tomás. This is an authentic spanish bar, without fancy decoration or cute waitresses. Food and drink is limited to few things. Why more if you have the best beer and “patatas bravas” of the city? You’ll find mostly local people, from students to business men. Everybody loves the special sauce they use (secret formula) for the potatoes. While you eat them you’ll feel some spice in your mouth, so beer is the best way to refresh yourself.
You will not find this bar in the typical tourist guides, but once you try, you’ll need to go back.

Visit Barcelona - Traveler experience

I’ve been in Barcelona several times. It’s always exciting to come back and see the people, architecture, art, museums, bars, shops, restaurants, discos and everything this city offers. A cosmopolitan city. The light is special, the sea, mountain. Barcelona has everything you might ask to the city of your dreams.
Bar – Because of the great amount of bars you’ll find
Cel – (sky) Because here it’s specially beautiful
Ona – (wave) Because of the sea
I love to explain that interesting version of where the city name come from. I’m not going to explain all the places you can go, there are bunch. You can check the website link below for tourist info.
What I wanna share with all of you is the strong freedom and lively feeling that I have when I walk the streets of Barcelona, when sharing a beer at some hidden bar, buying some cool clothes, eating an icecream while walking at the beach or eating at some exotic restaurant in Gracia neighborhood.
Don’t miss La Sagrada Familia, Parc GĂĽell, Gracia neighborhood (Verdi street), El Born neighborhood (Moskito Thai Restaurant), Las Ramblas, Plaza Catalunya, the beach and the port. A visit to Collserola mountain and the Tibidabo amusement park will let you see Barcelona from the air and have a great experience.
You’ll find plenty of Barcelona photos, so I’m just uploading the ones I made from the plane.

Rick’s Cafe – Negril, Jamaica

Their story begins with the opening of Rick’s Cafe by its founder, Richard Hershman, in April 1974. At the time, Negril was a sleepy fishing village with little development, it lacked many modern amenities such as electricity, telephone and hot running water. The beautiful little cliffside location was originally owned by a local doctor, the son of the first Governor General of independent Jamaica.
Rock’s Cafe was the first public bar and restaurant of its type on the West End Cliffs, offering an alternative to Negril’s majestic seven mile beach. From the beginning, Rick’s Cafe boasted an unrivaled view of the sunset from its naturally formed cliffs. Over the years, visitors and locals alike have designated Rick’s Cafe as Negril’s premier gathering spot and their sunsets have become a Jamaican tradition. In addition to the beautiful views, Rick’s Cafe is fortunate to have one of the most incredible coves along the West End Cliffs. From our cliffs, countless visitors and locals have jumped or dived into the crystalline water below. Our highest platform jump is 35 feet and ensures the thrill of a lifetime. For more than thirty years, Rick’s Cafe has maintained as much of its original ambiance as possible, despite some setbacks. In September 1988, Hurricane Gilbert completely destroyed Rick’s Cafe. Waves in excess of 25 feet crashed over the cliffs and treetops. After rebuilding, Rick’s Cafe came back more spectacular than ever. Sixteen years later, Hurricane Ivan destroyed Rick’s on September, 11 2004. More destructive than Gilbert, waves in excess of 60 to 80 feet crashed over the cliffs and treetops. When the winds finally passed, Rick’s Cafe had been blown across the road in bits and pieces. After the tremendous damage from Ivan, Rick’s came back once again, bigger and better than before.

The Ahwahnee Hotel Dining Room – Yosemite, California

The crown jewel of Yosemite dining, the award-winning Ahwahnee Dining Room is both magnificent and intimate. The 34-foot-high beamed ceiling with large sugar pine trestles that complement the room’s granite pillars, floor-to-ceiling windows, chandeliers, linen tablecloths and beautiful china create the perfect ambiance for a memorable dining experience.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily, as well as an unforgettable Sunday Brunch. Expect to experience culinary delight during your visit to this legendary Yosemite restaurant.
The history of this place makes it worth a visit if you can’t stay here. Our breakfast was excellent and the service was as well. It was definitely a treat to eat here. Walking around the grounds afterwards was a treat as well especially with the Dogwoods in full bloom. Perfect time to visit!

Rural Hotel Mas de les Flors – Costa Brava

“El Mas de les Flors” is a homely cottage where you will be able to enjoy some relaxing days with a warm and homely environment. Every room reminds you a kind of flower, and every living room is decorated depending in which season we are. In the summer you can go and have fun in the swimming pool and garden, and at night you can ask for some drinks in the chill-out terrace.
Is very well located, a main road is a few meters away (not visible), and help you going to Barcelona, Girona, Figueres, Cadeques and other important destinations fast.
The garden area rounds the hotel and has plenty space for walking and relaxing. I’ve been in a lot of rural houses and hotels in the Costa Brava and I can say this is one of of the best.

Hotel Mulberry – Chinatown, New York

Will be back! Spend the extra and get the balcony room. An absolutely fantastic view of the city. The room was extremely clean and zen like. In Chinatown and 2 blocks form Little Italy. Right in front of the hotel is the Columbus Park, full of life and people all day. You can find people stretching, playing basketball, reading or playing cards from very early in the morning til late at night. The breakfast is included. When you wake up just go to numbers down the street and find an amazing cafe with with different opcions to choose; always delicious. Juice, cake, fruit, coffe, etc. We spent one week at summer and everything was great. The shower has power and the air conditioner system helps fighting the humidity from outside. Definitely a great opcion for location and price. Is one of the cheapest options I found after hours searching in the Internet. I can’t wait to come back and see all the life happening in front of this great hotel.

Joe’s Shanghai Restaurant – Chinatown, New York

Specialty: Soup Dumplings
Xiao Long Bao or “Little Dumplings in the Basket” was originated from Nan Xiang, a suburb of Shanghai. Their perfectly symmetrical shape, resembles a pagoda.
These tender pouches, “little dumplings”, are freshly made to order. They arrive at the table in piping hot bamboo steamers. Each plump dumpling contains a little pork meatball surrounded by a delightful meaty broth.
To prevent burning one’s mouth and to savor the dumpling, the preferred method of consumption is to bite off a little piece of the doughy wrapper, drip the broth to a spoon or suck the broth with a “slurp”, then eat the rest.
I love this place. If you have a lot of friends you can share a table with them, if not, you’re going to seat in the same big round tables but sharing with strangers. This might be awkward if not used to it or never did, but after this first impression you’re going to have fun for sure. Many people don’t know how to eat a dumpling or use the chopsticks. Are you one of them? Check the funny video below.

Robert Treman State Park – Ithaca, NY

I used to love to escape here after tough weeks at Cornell. Hiking down through the gorge and then back up again was a tonic for the body and the mind. The natural beauty is incredible during all 4 seasons, but especially during fall foliage. I always see something new, and always feel refreshed afterward… And it was fun knowing that some of the earliest Tarzan movies were filmed here!

The Stone Pony – Asbury Park, NJ

The club where Bruce Springsteen got his start!

Crepe Shop – Asbury Park, New Jersey

Asbury Park is known for several things, but one of the most is that Bruce Springsteen started there before becaming worldwide famous. You can enjoy the beach and the boardwalk, with shops and people walking, running or standing in front of the pretty seaview.
One of those shops we find at Asbury Park promenade is the Crepe Shop. Nothing complicated, just crepes. One of the best crepes I’ve ever eaten. Enjoying it while taking a walk, watching the beach, the people, the old casino and the old mall with alternative shops and concert hall where The Boss started.

Some extra photos:

Pacific grove – Monterey, California

Walking through the dunes from the Asilomar conference center to the beach. we found these 4 meter long seaweeds washed up on the beach. The closest feeling to the primordial  unhabitants of our planet.
