Travelers favorite places in Rome

Most people call Paris “the city of love”. In my opinion, Rome is much more romantic. You can bring your love or you can try to find it there, anyway, you’re going to enjoy a city where light amaze you, where history and art transport your soul and mind to another era, where gastronomy is excellent, people kind, streets full of life and piazzas beautiful.
Don’t miss The Vatican, Fontana di Trevi, St Peter’s Square, Piazza Spagna, Spanish steps, the Colisseum or Final Judgement.
I will always want to go back to Rome while I still have breath.

Travelers favorite hotels in Rome, Italy

Four River Suites Hotel

Several times I find people that just care about photos and technical things when making hotel or restaurant reservations. I must say that photos are a great way to show places, and I tend to believe what I see, but the important thing that I really care about is the service. At Four Rivers Suites you’ll get one of the best guest service I’ve ever experienced. Owner has a very interesting conversation, speaks 3 or 4 languages and communicates a lot. You can take his advice or not, but I highly recommend to do it. You’ll get the chance of experience real Rome.

Travelers favorite restaurants in Portovenere

Travelers favorite restaurants in Portovenere. Rediscover italian cuisine:

Pizzeria Il Timone

Excellent food and service. An excellent italian restaurant with great atmosphere and environment. A foreign friendly restaurant can be very helpful, this one is. Service is very friendly, prices reasonable and the food just great. Pizzas, soups, desserts, wines and much more.

Travelers favorite places in Portovenere

Portovenere is a traditional italian fishing village with beautiful houses. The view of the port with all those little boats and colorful houses is fantastic. It’s impossible to not think about the old fishermen and the lifestyle they had. Early in the mornings go to the boat, enter the mediterranean sea and find fish for you, your family and luckily some for sell.
Sun, good life, hard work, family, love, Italy, Mediterranean sea… Great memories from Portovenere and one of top places in Europe for travelers in my opinion.

Bar Tomás. Best "patatas bravas" in Barcelona

When I think about Barcelona I think about Bar Tomás. This is an authentic spanish bar, without fancy decoration or cute waitresses. Food and drink is limited to few things. Why more if you have the best beer and “patatas bravas” of the city? You’ll find mostly local people, from students to business men. Everybody loves the special sauce they use (secret formula) for the potatoes. While you eat them you’ll feel some spice in your mouth, so beer is the best way to refresh yourself.
You will not find this bar in the typical tourist guides, but once you try, you’ll need to go back.

McSorley's Old Ale House, NYC

McSorley's Old Ale House has been a gathering place, a watering hole, the subject of art and literature and even a supreme court controversy. Established in 1854 - McSorley's can boast of being New York City's oldest continuously operated saloon. Everyone from Abe Lincoln to John Lennon have passed thru Mcsorley's swinging doors. Woody Guthrie inspired the union movement from a table in the front - guitar in hand, while civil rights attorney's Faith Seidenberg and Karen DeCrow had to take their case to the Supreme Court to gain access. Women were finally allowed access to McSorley's in 1970! Enter the sawdust strewn floors and history patched walls for a trip back through time. Share the McSorley's experience with the spirits of 150 years! This is a must go place to travel in time. And don't be surprise...you never get less than two when asking for just one beer, but nobody ever complained!

Bembi, Indian Restaurant in Barcelona

Bembi is a great indian restaurant located in Barcelona, 5 minutes walking from Plaza Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia. If you’re visiting the center of Barcelona, including Ramblas, Picasso Museum, Casa Batlló, La Pedrera, Gran Via or Plaza Catalunya.
We went to Tivoli Theatre to see “Campanes de Boda” from La Cubana, a classic theatre company from Catalonia. After that we walked a little bit and found this nice indian restaurant. It’s located in a non touristic street, so you’ll find peace being really closed to some of the main Barcelona atractions.
Share some naan (indian bread) and some great wine (recommendations carte) with your partner/s. The food is all good. If you’re lucky and have the chance of going more than once you can try different options (be careful with spicy dishes, they’re marked in the menu). If is a one time visit consider asking for chicken korma or combined dishes.
The place is relaxing, nice and clean. They have some big tables ideal for group meals.

Casa Batlló, Barcelona

Next door to the Casa Amatller, Casa Batlló was designed by Gaudí in 1905 and is hands-down the superior of the three works in the block. Using sensuous curves in iron and stone and glittering, luminous trencadis(collage of broken tiles and ceramic) on the facade, the Casa Batlló is widely thought to represent the legend of Saint George (the patron saint of Catalonia) and his dragon. The balconies are protected by imposing skull-like formations and supported by vertebrae-like columns representing the dragon’s victims, while the spectacular roof is the dragon’s humped and glossy scaled back. Saint George can be seen in the turret, his lance crowned by a cross. Although the admission price may seem steep compared to many other Gaudí attractions, the interior of the building is just as extravagantly spectacular as the exterior, with sinuous staircases, flowing wood paneling, and a stained-glass gallery supported by yet more bone-like columns. Custom-made Gaudí-designed furniture is scattered throughout. Gaudí was strongly influenced by medieval French architect Viollet-le-Duc, who tried to design chairs and benches to fit the human anatomy (an early form of ergonomics?). His own furnishings were mainly constructed from wood or iron, with leather or velvet touches. The benches and upright chairs you see in Casa Batlló are functional, however, compared to his flamboyant chaise-longues and dressing tables in Palau Güell.
